ABSTRACT

Recurrent aphthous stomatitis (RAS) is the most common chronic disease of the oral cavity, affecting 5-25% of the population. The underlying etiology remains unclear, and no curative treatment is available. The aim of this work is to develop a suitable buccal pouche formulation containin Choline Salicylate and Lignocaine Hydrochloride for the treatment of recurrent aphthous stomatitis. Starch and Gum agar used as natural polymers and study the effect of various formulation factors such as in vitro release of the drug, angle of repose, . The granules were prepared by wet granulation method and filled in filter paper pouches (500 mg each). The pouches were evaluated for drug release.
